Hepatitis is a disease of the liver, it is cause my germs that can reach the liver through blood or infected materials. There are different types of hepatitis as follows: Hepatitis A, B C, D, and E. Hepatitis A the mildest form is usually contracted through eating infected food material. The other forms of hepatitis are through human contact except Hepatitis E. Our lifestyle habits like drinking excessive alcohol and smoking are risk factors in developing hepatitis. Overdose of certain drugs like paracetamol can cause hepatitis.
Symptoms
Hepatitis usually starts with extreme tiredness, yellow urine, eye and skin in some cases. There may be fever loss of appetite vomiting, abdominal pains diarrhoea or bulky stool. hepatitis is very common among smokers, cocaine and heroin intravenous users.
Prevention
Avoid excessive alcohol, smoking use of drugs. Observe strict hygiene washing hands with soap and water after using the toilet. Hepatitis can last from few days (like Hepatitis A) to many years (Hepatitis C) if not properly treated.
